Consider these alarming statistics:
So many students flounder and fail in college and so many adults are dissatisfied with their jobs because they have no clear vision or direction for their life.
In the preface of his book, The Power of Uniqueness, Arthur Miller writes:
“Perhaps you are unaware of the fact that you are the customized expression of a loving God. You have been endowed with a unique mix of competencies and the desires and drive to use them in pursuit of an outcome of unrivaled personal importance. Your life has meaning built into it. Effectively, you have an exciting, challenging, and achievable destiny if you will but discover and embrace who you are designed to be.”
We are committed to doing everything we can as a school to help our students discover and embrace who they are designed to be. This is why we are excited about offering the Vocaré: To Hear the Call Workshop on Saturday, February 20, 3:00 to 6:00 to our students and others in the area.
Veteran high school guidance counselor and family coach, Larry (Coach Mo) Moshell, will conduct this workshop to help students consider their God-given natural abilities, spiritual gifts, interests, acquired talents, values, and goals as they seek to pursue their destiny.
The Workshop includes the use of the Highlands Ability BatteryTM, a gold-standard vocational assessment tool (find out more about the battery ). The comprehensive battery is taken by the students on your home computer and takes 3 hours to complete, but can be broken into shorter sessions. The battery must be completed before the workshop on Saturday, February 20.
The workshop is perfect for sophomores and juniors as they begin considering their college options. It is also extremely important for seniors, even if they have already decided where they are going to college, since the emphasis of the workshop is on vocational options, which will help them decide on their college major.
