How well do you know World Geography? What about Biblical Geography? Students from South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee put their knowledge to the test.
Blue Ridge Christian Academy hosted the ACSI District Geography Bee on Monday, April 27th. This is the first year that the Association of Christian School International, ACSI has offered member schools the opportunity to participate in a Geography Bee. Blue Ridge Christian Academy in Northern Greenville County, and Friendship Christian, Yorba Linda, California were the only two schools selected to host the ACSI pilot Geography Bees. The schools attending the Geography Bee at Blue Ridge Christian Academy are, Mitchell Road Christian Academy, Palmetto Christian from Greenwood, Greenville Classical, and Evangelical Christian School in Germantown, TN.
The questions posed to students included Biblical Geography and World Geography questions. Approximately 90 students, from five schools, in 3rd through 8th grades competed throughout the morning. BRCA had four students that recieved special recognition for perfect round. They were Jesse Breazeale (3rd grade), Raleigh Canup (3rd grade), Skyler Alles (3rd grade), and Gabe Alexander (3rd grade).
The four finalist were:
Fourth Place: Benjamin Wilder, 7th grader from MRCA
Third Place: Mary Frances Jordan, 7th grader from MRCA
Second Placce: Stephen Henderson, 7th grader from MRCA
First Place: Ian Burch, 7th grader from PCA.
